My thoughts:
I almost stopped reading after two chapters. It was very 'paranormal' for me - I had to relook at the cover because it sure didn't sound like a Debbie Macomber.
Then starting with Chapter 3 it seemed more like a Debbie Macomber book. She did reintroduce a couple of Cedar Cove characters that I loved!!!
But.... half way to two-thirds the way through the book, it happened again with another character - the paranormal thing....UGH! But by then I was already invested in the book.
I did like the rest of the book. But was very disappointed in the way this one took to the paranormal.
Will I read the next one? Yes. I will give her one more chance. =)

I so agree with you. I was turned off by the paranormal as well. Unlike you I will not be reading the next one. I don't know what is happening with everyone going paranormal lately. I hate paranormal, and if it is part of the story I think it should be revealed in the synopsis, that way I could have saved the $12 I spend on this book. Like you, I had invested to much time and money in this book so finished it. I was very disappointed in this book, and I am glad to see I wasn't the only one.
ReplyDeleteI have decided to try and give up series books and just stick to stand alone books. I just started a new book that is the first book of a series, "Leaves" by Michael Baron. Depending on whether on not I like it, I may read the next one, time will tell.
